The brand new facility in Learmonth Road was designed entirely from the Customer’s perspective and right from conception to development Staff were strongly encouraged to provided input and suggestions to ensure they achieved an environment which not only displayed their products and services in a fully transparent and relaxed manner but was a joy to work in.

Their highly skilled team of professional Automotive Technicians have welcomed the full length viewing window adjacent to the Customer Lounge and children’s play area which places them in full view as they go about their work.

Dealer Principal Peter King explains “that whilst each individual at Kings has their own specific responsibilities, everyone must be flexible and be prepared to drop everything for the Customer and help in any way they can.  It is for that reason we reject the concept of departments which often inadvertently cause barriers and divisions to be established which conflict with Customer Service.

“Recently we have had a number of roles to fill which was a difficult process as there were some excellent applicants.  Our new team members have fitted in perfectly and have all commented on what a great place it is to work at which is very encouraging and personally satisfying that we have been able to create that environment.  At Kings there is a real sense of team spirit and everyone shares in the success and milestones we have collectively achieved”.

Kings is approaching seven years in Ballarat and in that time has experienced substantial growth and success.  Located both here and in Ararat Kings represent the Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Proton, Ralliart (Evolution) Citroen and the new Fiat and Alfa Romeo range of vehicles. Recently this has expanded to include the first Chinese franchise in Australia, Great Wall.

Kings are committed to providing the best Customer Service possible.  Success in this area has been recognised Nationally and they are focused in 2010 on not only consolidating on achievements to date but building on this, correcting any deviations and importantly exceeding Customer expectations.

Kings have always adopted a Customer friendly approach through clear driveaway pricing and value adding.  Employment packages are structured around Customer Satisfaction, for example Sales Consultants are not paid individual commissions but instead work five days a week on higher retainer’s and share in team incentives, with a high emphasis on Vehicle Delivery rather than the actual sale.  Business is conducted in a relaxed and transparent manner with no pressure and the Sales Staff are empowered to make decisions rather than run back and forth to Managers for approval.

“A higher than average level of market share, strong repeat business, high Customer satisfaction ratings and low Staff turnover suggests we are on the right track and meeting both our Customers and Employees needs”, states Peter.
Kings believe strongly in training and developing Staff.  Within the business there are numerous success stories where Employees have been promoted, changed locations and also developed new and different skill sets within an encouraging and supportive environment.
Staff are encouraged regardless of roles to attend Vehicle releases and with the recent raft of new products being launched by their franchises there has been no shortage of opportunity.

Over the last year Kings has increased its workforce by nearly 10% in the last year and expects further growth of around 15% in 2010.  Peter says “you get nowhere if you listen to all the gloom and doom, adversity brings opportunity and if you have to work that little bit harder so be it, just lift your head and get on with it.  All our Staff feel totally secure in their jobs and have opportunities to develop their skills and grow with us.
